OUR ROOTS - YOU'D WANT TO SETTLE HERE TOO

Our Roots is set within the rugged beauty of a wildlife conservancy known as Marloth Park on the banks of the Crocodile River, which forms the border between Marloth Park and the world renowned Kruger National Park, between Malelane and Komatipoort in the Province of Mpumalanga, South Africa. This is a charming double storey house with 2 bedrooms and an additional loft bedroom fitted with most mod-cons and comfortable outdoor spaces to make for a breakaway of absolute relaxation.

WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY

Being a wildlife conservancy, guests will have exclusive and unique game-viewing opportunities, literally on your doorstep. The Crocodile Bridge Gate to the Kruger National Park is a mere 25km away from the house which offers even more opportunities for a game-viewing experience unique to South Africa.

UNBELIEVABLE BEAUTY

It is not a gated community nor an estate as one would find in the cities. Both entry gates to the Park are access controlled and the Park is known to be relatively safe compared to other areas of our country. However, no guarantees are given in this regard and guests are required to familiarise themselves with the Safety Guidelines that will be shared by the hosts on confirmation of a reservation.

DEFINITION OF COZY

This really is an experience of tranquility and reconnecting with nature away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Peace and quiet are at the order of the day unlike a typical holiday resort and for that reason no parties or loud music is allowed in terms of the Park Rules. Even loud conversations and laughter travel far - specially at night time and we request that you please be considerate for those around you who have come to enjoy the tranquility of Marloth Park and those who stay here permanently.

IS THIS MY TYPE OF HOLIDAY ?

It is important to us that the experience meets our guests’ expectations. Do not expect a resort style atmosphere or set-up. Marloth Park is a place of tranquility, rest and relaxation and therefore not geared with a whole lot of “things to do”. Being a wildlife conservancy, very strict park rules, specifically around noise management, are in place and must be observed. No loud music is allowed in terms of these rules. Even loud conversations and laughter travel far - specially at night time. Substantial fines are imposed on guests who are guilty of breaking the park rules. If you are therefore looking for a get-away for a celebration or party, this is unfortunately not the place for you.

Our stay was amazing. Just perfect. Already planning our next trip back!
